Residential Training Counselor
Qualifications:
- Minimum: High school Diploma
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field or any combination of disability related experience and college education of 2 years or more.
Mission:
The training Counselor provides services that enable the persons served to maximize personal, social and independent living skills.
Work Schedule:
- To be determined. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
- Shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m.
- 40 hours per week. Part time also available.
Example of Responsibilities:
- Assists in the support, development and habilitation of the persons served by participating in the implementation of established programs.
- Assists persons served in the development of personal care habits.
- Participates in individual and group therapy sessions.
- Participates in resident staffings.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Supervise residents in all of their activities on and off the facility premises.
- Provides information to parents and other interested parties while maintaining Avenues standards of confidentiality.
- Ensure safe living conditions for all persons served.
- Must pass State required background check.
- Must pass State required program to pass medications to residents
- Valid drivers license required.
- Attend seminars, conventions and other training sessions for the purpose of career growth and development.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
