Developmental Trainer Direct Support Professional
Qualifications:
- Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field or any combination of disability related experience and college education of 2 years or more.
Mission:
The Developmental Trainer is responsible for teaching and modeling work habits that enable the persons served to acquire the skills necessary to develop appropriate work habits to obtain community employment.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Part time available days and hours flexible.
Example of Responsibilities:
- Instruct and supervise persons served in the assigned unit in work habits, social skills, and personal maintenance skills.
- Maintain neat, accurate and timely documentation in production and habilitation areas.
- Encourage and monitor the persons served in the completion of all contract work accurately and timely.
- Provide persons served counseling and crisis intervention when necessary. Perform other persons served supervisory functions such as: Attendance recording; monitoring breaks, lunches, arrival and departure activities.
- Develop, implement, and monitors objectives for all designated persons served; Participate in IDT meetings and others meetings as necessary.
- Provide information to parents and other parties while maintaining AVENUES standards of confidentiality.
- Insure a safe program environment for all persons served and team members.
- Attend seminars, conventions and other training sessions for the purpose of career growth and development;
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
