Golf, Tennins and Paddle Classic

The 31st Annual Dinner was held Friday, June 14 at Allgauers at the Hilton Chicago/ Northbrook. The event is a special day to celebrate with staff, volunteers, Avenues supporters and most importantly the program participants.

Emcees Amy Wenzl, Social Services Coordinator, and Ron Reeves, Vocational Director introduced guests to the people at Avenues who are doing their part to make Avenues and our community a better place.

Guests met Matt, a program particpant working on the largest contract packaging job with Turtle Wax at the Center for Independence and Rob Jack who helped secure this new contract. Also introduced was Kim who went above and beyond to get to know her new roommates Nadine and Ann Marie with the help of her new sign language book. Also we met resident Charlie and Pastor Carol Hill, and learned of all the good he is doing with the Park Ridge Community Church through his mission trips.

Paul Carlisle, President of the Avenues Foundation Board and a founding member of the Chicago Partnership Board, was presented with the second annual William and Jean Knaack Spirit of Avenues Award. He was presented the award by the Knaack’s daughter Elaine Hodgson.

Thank you to all of the sponsors, volunteers and Avenues staff that helped to make this such a fun night for Avenues program participants.
