More than 330 Avenues to Independence supporters gathered on March 11 to celebrate the 21st Annual Irish Fest at the Cotillion in Palatine. Thanks to the guests, donors, and sponsors for their generosity that helped to raise a record-breaking $70,000. The proceeds from this year’s event will help to fund many programs at Avenues to Independence.

Guests enjoyed a performance of the dance group from the Wheeling work program lead by dance instructor Maureen Wudtke.  Thank you to the Irish Heritage Singers, the Weber Irish Dancers, harpist MarySue Redmann and flutist Barbara Holland, and the Joyce Boys Band for their entertainment for the afternoon.

Thank you to Irish Fest Co-Chairs Peg O’Herron and Bob Healy, Mary and Mike Prindiville, Patricia Grimes, Jeanne and Peter Doheny and Terri Kaisling and all of the volunteers for all of their help and support in making this event such a success.

More information will be available in the Spring 2018 edition of AveNews, and go to the following link to view the photos from Irish Fest! http://avenuestoindependence.org/gallery/Album.cfm?ID=1148
