Avenues to Independence kicked off the year-long celebration of the 65th anniversary year with the 30th Annual Love Affair.  The Gatsby Gala was held on Saturday, February 24 at the Loews Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont. More than 360 guest helped to raise a record- breaking $432,635!

Thank you to the sponsors, donors, volunteers and the anonymous donor who helped match the amount raised by the paddle raise.

Proceeds from the 2018 Love Affair will help to fund the renovation of our Adult Learning Program in Wheeling.   A video celebrating the 65th anniversary showed the new renovations that will begin to take place this Summer.

The Jane and Albert Wohlers Visionary Award award, created to honor the idea that everyone deserves to be to be a productive member of the community, was given to long-time Avenues supporter and Board Member Bob Healy for his philanthropy and vision for future generations.  Nancy Malik, daughter of Jane and Albert Wohlers, presented the award to Bob.
