Floyd Kortenhof, Residential Program Director at Avenues to Independence, was sworn in the Park Ridge Police Chaplain Program by Chief of Police Frank Kaminski on September 14.  Floyd is a Bishop of the Old Roman Catholic Church English Rite.

In a public ceremony, Floyd took the oath of office and made a personal commitment to spiritually assist the Park Ridge Police Department.  Chief Kaminski also presented Floyd with the traditional star badge, and emphasized how important the Police Chaplain Program is to the city.

Bishop Kortenhof, a 38 year employee of Avenues to Independence, stated he was “very privileged and honored to be part of the program.”  The ceremony was held at Avenues’ administrative offices, the Jane and Albert Wohlers Center, 515 Busse in Park Ridge.  

Floyd Kortenhof is congratulated by Park Ridge Police Chief Frank Kaminski as Police Sergeant Jean Delfosse and Executive Director Bob Okazaki look on.
