Avenues’ Annual Dinner and Dance – honoring our program participants!
Emcee Ron Reeves and Case Manager Amy Wenzl presented AVETalks - Ideas Worth Spreading, a take-off on the popular TED Talks internet series. Through Ron’s and Amy’s discussion, a PowerPoint presentation and several video clips, guests learned how Avenues focuses on Lives Worth Living, through our homes, work, health and fitness, and entrepreneurial opportunities. The residents at Okazaki Family House and Cambridge House revealed what they enjoy about living at their homes; guests learned about the AveVenture program at Avenues Thrift Shoppe and how the participants love working there; and the audience learned about Avenues Fitness Club and Art Program.
The Third Annual “Spirit of Avenues” Award was presented to the AT&T Pioneers, who for decades have been volunteering their skills and services weekly to Avenues. Their unselfish service and outstanding contribution to the mission and community of Avenues exemplifies what is meant by “Spirit.”
The Annual Dinner and Dance honors not only our participants, but also all our donors, contractors, friends and volunteers who provide opportunities for the people of Avenues to live in the community with independence and dignity. We also thank the many benefactors who helped sponsor the dinner and dance.
Guests enjoyed appetizers (compliments of the Hilton Chicago/Northbrook Hotel) and dinner, followed by our clients’ favorite part of the evening – dancing!
